County fires remain a regional priority

With fires throughout the state, the Walbridge and Meyers fires are a priority for the CalFire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit, but resources are slim

I am writing this letter to the community and to the remaining board members of the Healdsburg Animal Shelter. I am a former board member as is my husband George Dutton.

Changes bookend the WUSD meeting

The Dec. 1 meeting of the Windsor Unified School District Board of Trustees started and ended with some monumental changes.

A hollow gesture

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors took the easy way out last week, cynically agreeing unanimously to require everyone connected to the county – except themselves – to comply with a living wage increase. Requiring county contractors and grant recipients to raise wages to $15 an hour was a fine thing to do, but exempting the county itself was disappointing, and turned the whole affair into an exercise in self-aggrandizement.
