City council majority not interested in pursuing an all-electric reach code

A request from Healdsburg’s vice mayor to pursue a building reach code update that would include a ban on all-natural gas — creating all-electric reach code — couldn’t get enough traction Feb. 7 from fellow city council members in order to move forward despite resident support of such a ban.

The familiar face of Carl’s Jr.

For Healdsburg residents, there is one recognizable face they can instantly spot at their local Carl’s Jr. — Rutilia Perez, 50, has been working at the Carl’s Jr. in Healdsburg for 20 years. She has seen children grow up, memorized meals and made longtime friendships. Perez does not plan on leaving any time soon and her customers are glad. 

Sebastopol climate committee seeking public art submissions

Sebastopol's Climate Action Committee is looking for public art submissions for a new community art project focused on climate change. According to an announcement from the city, the project seeks to "educate and inspire the community to discuss and take local action on climate change."

One dead in collision near Healdsburg

A five-car accident that occurred yesterday afternoon at southbound U.S. Highway 101 and Old Redwood Highway/Healdsburg Avenue exit just south of Healdsburg has left one person dead and others with minor to moderate injuries, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) Public Information Officer David deRutte.

Ives Park Calder Creek Naturalization Project to keep ballfield

Calder Creek is getting some wiggle room in the Sebastopol City Council’s concept of choice for the Ives Park Calder Creek Naturalization Project. The plan chosen by the city council spares Polley Field, which would have been one of the casualties of the project if the council had chosen a different plan.
